When: March 1- April 23 2011
This show features contemporary narrative painting, cartooning, character design, sequential sculpture and sequential art (comics) created by women, often vastly different in style, subject matter and theme from male contemporaries’ work. Telltale: Women’s Sequential Art and Illustration will feature the art of comic creators and illustrators including: Mariah McCourt (New York Times’ best-selling True Blood comics adaptation writer) Shaenon K. Garrity (Narbonic and Skin Horse), Shirl Sazynski (cited, Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror 2008), Leigh Dragoon (By The Wayside, Vampire Academy adaptation writer), Holly Wood (narrative painter), Susan Knowles (Reliquary), and Courtney Angermeier (writer of Peoplings).
Artwork will be on display in the main floor gallery space from March 1-April 23.
