Telltale: Women’s Sequential Art and Illustration Show (Comics, manga and graphic novels!)

I curated an art show for the months of March and April. (Most artwork is for sale through the individual artists; please check the white binder at the front of the exhibit for details. Proceeds go entirely to the artists.)

Here’s a preview:

Visit to San Francisco by Holly Wood

Where: Albuquerque Main Library – 501 Copper Avenue Northwest, Albuquerque, New Mexico

When: March 1- April 23 2011

This show features contemporary narrative painting, cartooning, character design, sequential sculpture and sequential art (comics) created by women, often vastly different in style, subject matter and theme from male contemporaries’ work. Telltale: Women’s Sequential Art and Illustration will feature the art of comic creators and illustrators including: Mariah McCourt (New York Times’ best-selling True Blood comics adaptation writer) Shaenon K. Garrity (Narbonic and Skin Horse), Shirl Sazynski (cited, Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror 2008), Leigh Dragoon (By The Wayside, Vampire Academy adaptation writer), Holly Wood (narrative painter), Susan Knowles (Reliquary), and Courtney Angermeier (writer of Peoplings).

Artwork will be on display in the main floor gallery space from March 1-April 23.
